Nagpur: A grand Buddha festival has been organized at Deekshabhoomi from May 1 to May 3 to celebrate Buddha Jayanti. The event is being jointly hosted by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti and several other groups.
Event Schedule
According to Bhadant Arya Nagarjun Surei Sasai, the committee president and 'Dhamma Senanayak', the festival will commence on May 1 at 6 PM with a session focused on the 'Bodh Gaya Mahabodhi Mahavihara Act'.
On May 2, a discourse titled 'Buddha's Path of Welfare' will be delivered at 6 PM by members of the Bhikkhu Sangha and Bhikkhuni Sangha. The concluding day, May 3, will feature a vibrant cultural event starting at 6 PM.
This annual event attracts thousands of devotees and visitors from across the region, offering an opportunity to delve into Buddhist teachings and cultural heritage.
