The district administration of Bokaro successfully concluded the 'Shabd Sarita Mahotsava', a vibrant literary festival, with a powerful poetry event and rich cultural performances on Friday. The festival, which began on Wednesday, was held at the Shibu Soren Smriti Bhavan, creating a unique platform that blended literature, deep emotion, and social consciousness.
Poets Mesmerize Audience with Evocative Verses
The concluding day saw eminent poets from across India captivate the audience with their powerful and evocative recitations. Renowned poet Nilotpal Mrinal emphasized that literature offers new perspectives to society and commended the district administration for their initiative. His heartfelt poems explored a range of themes, from the struggles of farmers and the dignity of labour to the innocence of childhood, eliciting strong emotional responses from those present.
According to Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha, Mrinal's verses on youth, love, and sacrifice highlighted courage and devotion, while his satirical takes on work and life resonated deeply with young professionals in the crowd. Other poets added to the event's charm by presenting verses that celebrated life's subtleties, the beauty of springtime, and the complexities of love.
Cultural Grandeur and Administrative Participation
Adding grandeur to the cultural series of the mahotsav, the Jago Jagao Group performed a captivating Santhali dance-drama. This performance played a crucial role in reviving the legacy of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, inspiring the audience and connecting the younger generation to the state's profound cultural and historical traditions.
The event commenced with a 'Sharade Vandana', which filled the auditorium with spiritual and literary energy. Notably, the event also saw active participation from administrative officers. Deputy Collector of Land Reforms (DCLR) Prabhas Dutta and Disaster Management Officer Shakti Kumar recited moving compositions that reflected themes of resilience, hope, and contemporary social realities.
A Confluence of Art and Social Consciousness
The festival's final day stood out as a significant confluence of artistic expression and social awareness. By integrating powerful poetry with traditional Santhali performance, the event successfully created a vibrant stage for dialogue and reflection. The initiative by the Bokaro district administration not only provided entertainment but also fostered a deeper appreciation for literary arts and Jharkhand's rich heritage among attendees of all ages.
