The railway central super speciality hospital at Karbighaiya in Patna launched a tuberculosis (TB) awareness campaign on Tuesday, with active participation from doctors, nursing staff, patients, and visitors. The campaign was held at the out-patient department (OPD) of the hospital, aiming to spread awareness about tuberculosis, its prevention, and treatment.
Key Highlights of the Campaign
Addressing the participants, hospital medical director Dr Subodh Kumar Mishra highlighted various aspects of the disease and emphasized the need for early detection and timely treatment to contain its spread. He stated that the Centre's ongoing TB eradication campaign has made a significant impact on the common people by creating greater awareness about the disease and encouraging patients to seek medical assistance at an early stage.
Presentations on TB
During the programme, Dr Manisha delivered a detailed presentation on female genital tuberculosis and its adverse effects on women's health and quality of life. She stressed the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment to prevent long-term complications.
Dr Sandhaya spoke about the ill effects of tuberculosis on individuals and society and elaborated on the available treatment options, emphasizing that TB is a curable disease when proper medical care is followed.
