The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its official nod for the establishment of a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rewari, Haryana. This landmark decision, announced on February 29, 2024, represents a monumental investment of Rs 1,650 crore in the region's healthcare infrastructure. The project is set to be developed under the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).

The new AIIMS in Rewari is designed as a 750-bed hospital complex, which will include a robust trauma center and a medical college with a capacity for 100 MBBS students annually. Furthermore, the institute will offer nursing programs for 60 B.Sc. students each year. The approved cost of Rs 1,650 crore will cover the entire establishment, including the creation of the hospital, medical college, nursing college, hostels, and residential quarters for staff. The Haryana government has already allocated approximately 200 acres of land in Majra Gurdan village, near the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, for this purpose, ensuring excellent connectivity.
