History of Buddha Purnima
According to ancient texts, Lord Buddha was born as Prince Siddhartha, surrounded by luxuries and worldly delights. His mother was a Koliyan princess, and his father, King Suddhodana, was the leader of the Shakya tribe. To prevent him from being influenced toward a religious life, he was kept indoors, as it was predicted at his birth that he would become a powerful emperor. However, upon seeing an elderly man, a sick man, and a dead man, Siddhartha became deeply troubled by human suffering. At the age of 29, he left home in search of solutions to understand the causes of misery. He sought enlightenment by meditating intensely under a banyan tree. At the age of 35, he attained enlightenment and became known as Mahatma Buddha. He then taught spiritual lessons and urged people to follow a spiritual path, raising awareness of spirituality.
