In a swift career move, actor Vihan Verma has secured a significant cameo appearance in the popular television serial 'Rimjhim', produced by Shashi and Sumeet Mittal. This development comes even before his much-anticipated role as Priyanka Chahar Choudhary's brother in the upcoming 'Naagin 7' has premiered on screen.
Stepping into the Courtroom as Kunal
In 'Rimjhim', which stars Yashika Sharma and Himanshu Awasthi as the lead pair, Vihan will be seen portraying Kunal, a high-flying and successful advocate. The actor expressed his enthusiasm for this new character, highlighting its departure from his previous television roles.
"The character is very different from what I have played on television so far," Vihan stated. "Kunal is a successful, strong-headed advocate who comes in to add his own flavour to the story. I have always wanted to play an advocate because I feel they have extremely strong personalities."
A Layered Role with Hidden Depths
While the cameo is scheduled to last for about a week, Vihan believes Kunal's impact will be substantial. He revealed that most of his scenes are with the show's lead actors. He also teased the complexity of his role, noting that while Kunal appears positive initially, his true intentions may be ambiguous.
"For now, he is positive, but I am not sure about his intentions later on. That is something the makers are still contemplating," he shared. "What excites me is that he is layered, very intelligent, highly educated, and an award-winning advocate. He has a backstory, and I am curious to see how the makers unfold it."
No Apprehensions About the Cameo Format
When asked if the limited screen time of a cameo role made him hesitant, Vihan Verma was unequivocal. He explained his perspective on short-term characters in television's narrative structure.
"I am not apprehensive at all. Television follows a pattern, and not every character can be at the forefront in every scene," he said. "With a cameo, the idea is to introduce a character who adds a fresh dimension and uplifts the storyline, which is exactly what Kunal does. If a role is written well, you actually get a lot to perform. Sometimes, short impacts overshadow bigger ones."
Balancing Sets: From 'Naagin' Family to 'Rimjhim' Homecoming
The actor is currently juggling commitments between the two shows. He admitted to having built stronger bonds on the sets of 'Naagin 7', where he has been shooting for the past three months. He humorously compared the 'Rimjhim' cameo to a final exam paper.
"It feels like an exam is getting over with just one paper left," he laughed. However, working on 'Rimjhim' also feels familiar. "I have worked with the makers of 'Rimjhim' before, and I know several unit members. In many ways, it felt like coming back home."
This strategic cameo allows Vihan Verma to maintain visibility and showcase his versatility on television. It positions him effectively in the audience's mind ahead of his major launch in the prestigious 'Naagin' franchise, marking a busy and promising phase in his acting career.
