The thirteenth season of the much-loved Repertwahr festival in Lucknow reached a spectacular and unforgettable conclusion this past Sunday. The event offered a dual musical feast, seamlessly transitioning from the intimate, cutting-edge experience of a silent disco to the powerful, collective nostalgia of a live Hindi rock performance.
From Intimate Beats to a Glowing Dance Floor
The evening's journey began at the 'Taal' Silent Disco zone, where attendees donned wireless headphones. DJ Sangria curated the soundscape, filling the headphones with a captivating set of Afro-infused melodic techno. The festival lawns were transformed into a surreal, glowing dance floor as hundreds moved in silent, shared rhythm.
Festival-goer Shreena Singh shared her surprise at the experience. "I started my evening at Taal and honestly had not expected to enjoy it so much," she said. "Dancing with headphones on, feeling the bass but still hearing the laughter around me was uniquely intimate and freeing. DJ Sangria's set built slowly, and soon, everyone was moving as one."
A Nostalgic Peak at the 'Mahol' Music Arena
As the night progressed, the energy shifted to the main 'Mahol' Music Arena. Here, the legendary Euphoria Band took command of the stage, igniting waves of collective memory and emotion. The air filled with the chords of iconic anthems like 'Maaeri' and 'Dhoom Pichak Dhoom', turning the arena into a massive sing-along chorus.
"When Euphoria began playing 'Maaeri', it was impossible to hold back emotions," expressed attendee Sameer Aslam. "I've grown up with these songs. Suddenly, hundreds of strangers were singing every lyric together. For those moments, nothing existed except the music and that shared feeling."
A Festival Celebrating Musical Diversity
The final day of Repertwahr Season 13 successfully celebrated the vast spectrum of India's soundscape. It honored both contemporary, experimental electronic music and the timeless appeal of Hindi indie rock, providing two distinct worlds within a single night.
Vidhi Pahwa perfectly captured the essence of the night: "Repertwahr gave us two completely different musical experiences. The silent disco was modern and fun, while Euphoria brought back memories of college festivals. That transition from headphones to live guitars was truly magical and something I will remember for a very long time."
The festival's crescendo proved that Lucknow's appetite for diverse, high-quality live music is stronger than ever, setting a high bar for future seasons.
