Indore: The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Tuesday imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on a commercial property for failing to install a rainwater harvesting (RWH) system, despite receiving prior statutory notices. The action was taken under the Indore Municipal Corporation (Rainwater Harvesting) Bylaws, 2022.

Inspection Details

IMC commissioner Kshitij Singhal told TOI that during an inspection in the MG Road area under Zone 11, Ward 55, a municipal team found that the owners of Megapolis Multi Khandelwal House had not constructed the mandatory RWH and water recharge pits within the stipulated timeframe. This violated earlier notices issued by the civic body.

Penalty Imposed

The civic body penalized the owners under the Indore Municipal Corporation (Rainwater Harvesting) Bylaws, 2022. The fine of Rs 30,000 was levied for non-compliance with the regulations.
