Animal Lovers Submit Memorandum to Save Stray Dog Coco in Mazgaon
Memorandum Filed to Save Stray Dog Coco in Mazgaon

Mumbai: Several animal lovers from Mazgaon have submitted a signed memorandum to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and other state authorities regarding a friendly stray dog named Coco, who is being targeted by certain dog haters.

False Complaints Alleged

"False complaints have been filed by a certain hater alleging that Coco has bitten people. Surprisingly, in one complaint, the dog bite happened far away on Dockyard Road, with no signature of the doctor or the patient's name," said a dog feeder, H Jalali.

The urgent memorandum to 'Save Coco' has also been given to the chairperson of the high court-appointed animal rights monitoring committee, Justice K K Tated, who has assured to look into this case in all fairness," said animal activist, Dr Nandini Kulkarni.

Previous Observation

In March this year, Coco was kept under observation at the Deonar dog centre, where the vets found him to be healthy and friendly. "Just one local family with animal prejudice wants Coco to be evicted, which is cruel and illegal," said Kulkarni.
