The interaction took place during a live audience session, highlighting the often-hidden hardships faced by those trying to make it in showbiz.
"Actors Hurt Inside Too": Shehnaaz's Empathetic Response
During a conversation with Zoom on December 26, 2025, a fan broke down while sharing her experiences of repeated exploitation as a junior artist. Moved by her tears, Shehnaaz Gill immediately stepped in to console her. She drew from her own journey, stating that even successful actors face similar pain but choose to conceal it from the public eye.
"You need to become strong, stand up for yourself, and not worry about what the world thinks," Shehnaaz advised the fan. She emphasized that struggles are universal, and the smiling faces seen on screen often mask inner turmoil. "Yes, from the outside, people may be smiling, even us, actors, but inside, they are hurting, they are crying. They just don't show it because their lives are public," she explained, pointing to the fear of judgment and trolling.
A Warning About a "Cruel World" in Kalyug
Shehnaaz Gill offered a stark perspective on why displaying vulnerability can be dangerous. She described the current era as Kalyug, a time she believes is filled with people ready to take advantage of others' weaknesses.
"This world is kalyug. If you show your pain openly, people will try to take advantage of it. The world is full of such devils," she cautioned. Her core message was about resilience and self-preservation: "If you don't display your emotions and maintain a strong front, you will move forward. If you keep crying, people will notice your weakness and exploit it."
Shehnaaz's Own Career Struggles and Bollywood Hurdles
This incident comes close on the heels of Shehnaaz Gill opening up about her own professional challenges in a chat with Faridoon Shahryar. Despite her fame, she expressed frustration at the roles coming her way in Bollywood.
"I am not getting good stories, and I feel I am being used as a prop in films," she revealed. She talked about turning down numerous Punjabi film offers over five years, waiting for a unique concept that would allow her to make a meaningful comeback in the Punjabi industry.
Her current focus is on proving her mettle as an actor. "I will work there [Bollywood] someday, but first, I want to prove myself. I am giving auditions for Bollywood and doing my best, but proving myself as an actor first was very important," Shehnaaz stated, indicating a strategic shift in her career priorities to seek substantial and impactful work.
