UP Agri Minister Inspects CSAUAT Kanpur, Directs Timely Work

Uttar Pradesh's Agriculture Minister, Surya Pratap Shahi, conducted a comprehensive review of development works at the Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSAUAT) in Kanpur. The minister, accompanied by Principal Secretary of Agriculture Ravindra Kumar, directed concerned agencies to ensure all ongoing projects on the campus are finished on time without compromising on quality.

On-Ground Inspection of Campus Facilities

During the visit, Minister Shahi undertook an intensive inspection of key facilities. He personally visited the university's girls' hostels, namely Jhalkari Bai and Godavari, as well as the Community Science College. The minister interacted directly with students residing in the hostels, inquiring about the facilities provided and the quality of food served in the mess.

The inspection tour also covered the Tilak Boys Hostel, the Student Training Experimental Field, and the Vegetable Section located in Kalyanpur. Throughout the review, Shahi issued strict instructions to officials from the construction agencies involved.

Focus on Quality and Expansion of University's Role

Minister Surya Pratap Shahi emphasized that all development projects must adhere to the highest quality standards while being completed within the stipulated deadlines. He clarified that the core objective behind these infrastructural pushes is to expand the university's educational, research, and extension activities.

A dedicated review meeting was held to assess the progress of various projects and development works running at the agricultural university. The minister was briefed on several critical administrative and academic matters.

Key Discussions and Briefings

During the meetings, Director of Administration and Monitoring, Dr. Naushad Khan, explained the accreditation requirements for the eight colleges operated by CSAUAT. In another significant briefing, Director of Extension and Research, Dr. R.K. Yadav, informed the minister about the vacant posts for research and extension scientists at the university.

The minister's itinerary also included a visit to the ICAR ATARI Zone 3 in Kanpur. The high-profile visit saw the presence of several senior officials, including Director General of the Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Research Council Dr. Sanjay Singh, CSAUAT Vice-Chancellor K. Vijayendra Pandian, Finance Controller Sanjay Rai, Dr. Munish Kumar, Dr. C.L. Maurya, and Dr. Mukesh Srivastava. All deans, directors, heads of departments, and officials from the agriculture department were also present.

The visit underscores the state government's focus on strengthening agricultural education and research infrastructure. By pushing for timely project completion and direct student interaction, the ministry aims to enhance the overall academic and residential ecosystem at one of Uttar Pradesh's premier agricultural universities.
