IP University Launches 2026-27 Admission with 24 New Courses

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), commonly known as IP University, has officially launched its comprehensive admission brochure for the upcoming academic session of 2026-27. This significant announcement marks the beginning of the online admission process, which is set to commence on February 2, 2026, offering prospective students a gateway to over 43,000 seats across more than 130 affiliated colleges and university schools.

Expansion with 24 New Academic Programmes

In a major academic expansion, IP University has introduced 24 new courses for the 2026-27 session, reflecting its commitment to innovation and diverse educational opportunities. The new offerings span a wide range of disciplines, catering to the evolving demands of the job market and student interests.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Highlights

The newly introduced programmes include several notable additions at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Among the undergraduate courses, students can now apply for the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Physiotherapy, BTech in Industrial Chemistry, BSc in Clinical Psychology, and specialised BTech programmes in Computer Science Engineering with focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, as well as Computer Science and Business Systems.

At the postgraduate level, the university has launched an MTech in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, along with an MA in Mass Communication offered as a weekend programme. Additional weekend programmes have been introduced in select disciplines, providing flexibility for working professionals and those with other commitments.

Specialised Education Initiatives

IP University has also rolled out the BA BEd (Special and Inclusive Education – ISITEP) programme, which features specialisations in critical areas such as autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, learning disability, multiple disability, and visual impairment. This initiative underscores the university's dedication to inclusive education and teacher training in special needs.

Admission Pathways and Fee Structure

Admissions for the 2026-27 session will be conducted through a combination of university-level Common Entrance Tests (CETs) and national-level examinations. Recognised exams include JEE Main for engineering, NEET for medical courses, CAT and CMAT for management programmes, NIMCET for computer applications, and CLAT for law, among others.

Furthermore, vacant seats in certain undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including BTech courses, will be filled using scores from the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Candidates are required to pay a one-time application fee of Rs 2,500, which covers both registration and participation in the counselling process, maintaining consistency with the previous year's structure.

Infrastructure and Institutional Growth

The university's growth is further evidenced by the affiliation of nine new institutes this year. Additionally, three programmes are already operational at the Narela campus, with several more in the pipeline, indicating a strategic expansion of academic facilities and resources.

Official Launch and Government Endorsement

The admission brochures were jointly released by Delhi's Minister of Education, Ashish Sood, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma. During the launch event, Minister Sood emphasised that the brochure symbolises trust, commitment, and the government's resolve to shape the future through accessible education.

Reflecting on past challenges, he noted that higher education in Delhi once often required students to leave the city, with the capitation fee system imposing significant financial burdens on middle-class families. He highlighted that this mindset has transformed, with GGSIPU emerging as a strong example of accessible public education for the new generation.

The minister further pointed out that the university now boasts over 130 affiliated institutions, more than 43,000 seats, and over 230 academic programmes spanning cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, data science, law, medicine, and design.

Application Details and Resources

Prospective applicants are advised to carefully review the official admission brochure for detailed information on eligibility criteria, course specifics, and admission procedures. Further details and application forms are available on the official IP University admission portal at ipu.ac.in, ensuring a streamlined and transparent application process for all candidates.
