In a significant move towards modernisation, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has announced a comprehensive plan to digitise its entire record-keeping system. The decision was taken during a crucial meeting held in Prayagraj on Tuesday, aiming to streamline operations and enhance the overall management of the state's recruitment examinations.
Key Decisions for a Digital Overhaul
Deputy Secretary and Public Relations Officer of UPESSC, Sanjay Kumar Singh, outlined several administrative and procedural reforms approved in the meeting. The cornerstone of this initiative is the complete digitisation of all files and records. This step is expected to facilitate smoother operations and lead to significantly better record management, reducing delays and manual errors.
Furthermore, the commission resolved to frame a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for various stages of the recruitment process. The examination controller has been directed to present a proposed draft of this SOP in the next meeting. Decisions regarding future examination dates will be finalised only after this SOP is in place, ensuring a structured and predictable schedule for candidates.
Boosting Transparency in Agency Selection
To prevent technical discrepancies in future examinations, the commission will conduct a detailed review of all existing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed with different partner agencies. In a major push for transparency, it was decided that advertisements will now be issued for the selection of agencies involved in conducting examinations. The process for selecting agencies required for routine functions will also be made time-bound to avoid unnecessary delays.
Infrastructure and Administrative Strengthening
Beyond digital reforms, the meeting also addressed the commission's physical infrastructure. Decisions were taken regarding necessary repair work, painting, and thorough cleaning of the UPESSC building in Prayagraj. According to PRO Sanjay Kumar Singh, these collective decisions are aimed at strengthening the commission's administrative framework. The expected outcome is a substantial improvement in the overall conduct and credibility of recruitment examinations conducted by UPESSC, benefiting lakhs of aspirants across Uttar Pradesh.
