UP Board Exams: Chief Secretary SP Goyal Issues Strict Directives for Peaceful and Copy-Free Conduct

In a crucial weekly meeting held on Wednesday, Chief Secretary SP Goyal convened with district magistrates and divisional commissioners to outline stringent measures for the upcoming high school and intermediate examinations conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad. Emphasizing the need for a peaceful and completely copying-free environment, Goyal directed officials to ensure that the exams proceed without any disruptions or malpractices.

Exam Schedule and Sensitive Districts Identified

The UP Board's high school and intermediate examinations are scheduled to take place from February 18 to March 12 across the entire state. To maintain integrity, the Chief Secretary highlighted 18 districts that have been declared sensitive due to past incidents or other concerns. These districts include:

  • Agra
  • Mathura
  • Aligarh
  • Hathras
  • Etah
  • Kasganj
  • Prayagraj
  • Kaushambi
  • Pratapgarh
  • Hardoi
  • Kannauj
  • Azamgarh
  • Ballia
  • Mau
  • Jaunpur
  • Ghazipur
  • Deoria
  • Gonda

In these sensitive areas, special vigilance must be maintained, with highly sensitive examination centers requiring inspection twice daily to prevent any untoward incidents.

Enhanced Security and Transportation Measures

To further bolster exam security, Chief Secretary Goyal announced that a special campaign is being implemented in all districts from February 1 to February 15. This initiative aims to curb overloading of vehicles and illegal transportation, which could potentially facilitate cheating or other exam-related malpractices. Under this campaign, strict action will be taken against:

  • Vehicles with pending challans
  • Overloaded vehicles
  • Vehicles transporting minerals with fake, blurred, or incorrect number plates

Additionally, Goyal mandated that GPS devices must be installed on all vehicles involved in transporting sub-minerals. These devices are to be integrated into the departmental portal, ensuring real-time monitoring and enhanced accountability during the exam period.

By implementing these comprehensive measures, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to uphold the credibility of the board examinations and provide a fair and secure environment for all students.
