Maharashtra State Board Launches YouTube Channel for Exam Guidance
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has launched an official YouTube channel. This move comes ahead of the upcoming Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate examinations. The channel aims to provide clear guidance to students, schools, and examination center officials.
Reducing Confusion Through Video Explanations
Board officials will use the platform to explain various examination rules in detail. They want to avoid confusion among all stakeholders during the board exams. Maharashtra State Board chairman Trigun Kulkarni stated that the initiative targets the audience through an effective communication medium.
"Exam rules and regulations are not new," Kulkarni said. "Yet confusion often arises due to different interpretations of written documents. To clear such doubts, we have distributed topics among heads of all nine board divisions. They will shoot and upload explanatory videos."
Kulkarni highlighted one recurring issue. He noted frequent confusion around rules and facilities for students with special needs. This confusion stems from differing interpretations by school heads and examination center heads.
Content Featuring Senior Officials
The YouTube channel, named Maharashtra State Board Pune, launched last month. It already hosts videos featuring senior government officials. These include Ranjit Singh Deol, principal secretary for school education, and IPS officer Vishwas Nagre Patil.
These videos carry motivational messages for students. They encourage examinees to stay away from malpractices during examinations. Another set of videos features board officials at the divisional level. These officials explain rules under different categories.
For instance, Latur division head Sudhakar Telang elaborates on facilities for children with disabilities. He explains how to avail these facilities. Kolhapur division head Rajesh Kshirsagar details actions prescribed for various examination malpractices. He covers copying cases as well.
Expanding to Stress Management and Subject Guidance
Kulkarni revealed further plans for the channel. The board intends to upload content on other exam-related topics. These will include stress management techniques and subject-specific guidance.
"Apart from technical exam queries, we receive numerous questions on such topics," he said. "Stress management queries come not only from aspirants but also their parents. While the traditional helpline will continue, these videos aim to provide basic information in advance."
Exam Schedule for 2026
The board has announced the examination schedule for 2026. Higher Secondary Certificate written exams will run from February 10 to March 18, 2026. Secondary School Certificate written exams are scheduled from February 20 to March 18, 2026.
Practical and oral assessments for HSC will occur from January 23 to February 9, 2026. For SSC, these assessments will take place from February 2 to February 18, 2026.
This YouTube initiative represents a modern approach to student support. It leverages digital platforms to enhance clarity and reduce examination-related anxiety across Maharashtra.
