In a decisive move to improve academic performance, the Gumla district administration in Jharkhand has launched a comprehensive campaign aimed at securing better results in the upcoming Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) Class 10 and 12 board examinations. The initiative, named 'Board Exam Vijay Abhiyan', involves a multi-pronged strategy of strict monitoring, targeted support for students, and accountability for officials.
Centralised Control and Strict Monitoring
The cornerstone of this campaign is a newly established district-level control room dedicated to the regular oversight of all examination-related activities. Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Dileshwar Mahto and Additional Collector (AC) Shashindra Baraik have been appointed as the nodal officers to spearhead the effort.
The control room is operated under the supervision of District Education Officer (DEO) Kabita Khalkho and District Superintendent of Education (DSE) Noor Alam Khan. Their primary task is to conduct daily monitoring of Block Resource Persons (BRPs) and Cluster Resource Persons (CRPs). This is achieved by tracking their school visits through methods like GPS-enabled photographs and video calls to verify the proper completion of assigned tasks.
Focus on Weak Students and Accountability
Beyond monitoring, the administration is implementing concrete academic support measures. A special focus is being placed on academically weak students through the organisation of remedial classes and practice sessions based on model question papers. To ensure ground-level execution, senior district officers have each been assigned a school to oversee teacher performance and personally motivate students.
The administration has made it clear that negligence will not be tolerated. Demonstrating this stance, Gumla DC Prerna Dixit took strict action during a review meeting earlier this week. The salary of Additional District Programme Officer (ADPO) Jyoti Khalkho was withheld. Furthermore, Cluster Resource Person (CRP) Rajmuni Kumari of Government High School, Bansdih, and Block Resource Person (BRC) Jari Reena Kumari of Albert Ekka block were suspended for non-performance.
Administration's Zero-Tolerance Stance
Emphasising the campaign's seriousness, DC Prerna Dixit stated that the sole focus is to ensure that students perform well in the board exams. "No laxity will be tolerated," she asserted, confirming her directives for the district control room to employ technological tools for rigorous, real-time monitoring. This holistic approach of combining support with strict accountability underscores the district's commitment to achieving a significant improvement in the JAC board examination results this year.
