In a significant push to bolster student readiness, the Gumla district administration in Jharkhand has launched a comprehensive three-day mock test series for students appearing in the upcoming Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) board examinations. The special tests, which began on January 8, are being conducted across all government schools in the district with the aim of mirroring the actual board exam experience.
Rigorous Exam Simulation Under Board Exam-Vijay Abhiyan
The initiative is a core part of the education department's 'Board Exam-Vijay Abhiyan' campaign. According to Dildar Singh, an official from the department, the mock tests are running from January 8 to January 10 in two shifts daily across Gumla. The structure is designed to be a strict replica of the real JAC board examinations, which are scheduled to commence on February 3.
"The mock test is being conducted strictly on the pattern of the actual board examination in all categories of secondary and higher secondary schools and inter colleges of the district," Singh explained. The question papers for this rigorous assessment have been meticulously prepared by the district's core academic team to ensure authenticity and relevance.
Mandatory Participation and Focus on Weaker Students
The district has made participation compulsory for all students who have registered for the forthcoming board exams. Highlighting a targeted approach, Gumla District Education Officer (DEO) Kavita Khalkho stated that there is a special mandate for students identified as academically weak during a previous mock test held in November 2025.
"100% attendance of these students is compulsory, with special focus on improving their academic performance," Khalkho emphasized. This move underscores the administration's commitment to leaving no student behind in the final preparation phase.
Post-Test Evaluation and Remedial Measures
The evaluation process for the mock tests is on a tight deadline, with authorities aiming to complete assessment by January 15. Immediately following the results, a crucial intervention phase will begin. District Superintendent of Education (DSE) Noor Alam Khan announced that remedial classes will be held from January 15 to January 30.
These classes are intended to address the specific gaps and weaknesses identified in the mock tests, providing students with a final opportunity to consolidate their knowledge before the actual boards. Deputy Commissioner Prerna Dixit affirmed the holistic strategy, saying, "Our focus is to get students fully prepared, as we initiated a wide range of interventions in schooling and teaching."
The concerted effort by the Gumla district education machinery reflects a proactive model to enhance student outcomes in the state board examinations, combining rigorous assessment with timely academic support.
