Gujarat Education Department Announces Schedule for Primary School Annual Examinations

The Gujarat State Education Department has officially declared the dates for the annual examinations for all primary schools across the state. The exams are scheduled to be conducted from April 6 to April 22, following a uniform timetable that has been distributed to all educational institutions.

Detailed Exam Timetable for Classes 3 to 8

According to the announcement, the examination schedule is divided into two distinct phases:

  • Classes 3 to 5: Their annual exams will be held from April 6 to April 11.
  • Classes 6 to 8: Their exams are scheduled to take place from April 13 to April 22.

This structured approach ensures a smooth and organized conduct of assessments across different grade levels.

State-Level Preparation of Exam Formats and Question Papers

The education department has taken a centralized approach to maintain consistency in the examination process. Grade-wise and subject-wise formats for Classes 3 to 8 have been meticulously prepared at the state level. These formats have been shared with all District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) across Gujarat.

Based on these state-provided formats, the DIETs will now undertake the responsibility of preparing the question papers. Once finalized, the question papers will be handed over to the respective District Primary Education Officers for distribution to schools.

Syllabus Coverage and Academic Planning

The syllabus for the annual exams will comprehensively cover the curriculum taught from November to March. This aligns with the academic planning that is available on the official website of the Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT). Students and educators are encouraged to refer to the GCERT website for detailed syllabus outlines and preparation resources.

The announcement underscores the department's commitment to a standardized and transparent examination system, ensuring that all primary school students are assessed fairly and uniformly across the state.
