Bengaluru SSLC Exam Timings Shifted After Security Breach
The Department of School Education and Literacy in Karnataka has taken decisive action following a question paper leak. This incident occurred during the first preparatory examination for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC). In response, officials have altered the schedule for the upcoming second preparatory test.
New Exam Schedule and Student Requirements
Originally planned from January 27 to February 2, the examination will now start at 11:00 AM instead of 10:00 AM. However, all students must arrive at their classrooms by 9:00 AM sharp. Regular classes will proceed from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on exam days.
Enhanced Security Measures for Question Papers
The department has implemented strict protocols to prevent further leaks. Headmasters must download question papers for each subject from the school login portal at 9:30 AM on the respective exam day. Printing must finish by 10:00 AM, with papers ready for distribution by 10:30 AM. They should reach the examination halls by 10:50 AM.
Accountability and Legal Consequences
In its circular dated January 17, the department issued a stern warning. If any question paper leak happens, responsibility will fall on multiple officials. This includes the school headmaster, the nodal teacher, the block education officer, and the district deputy director.
The authorities will file a separate First Information Report (FIR) for each case of leakage. Legal action will follow against those found responsible. This move aims to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the examination process.
These changes come as the department strives to restore confidence in the SSLC preparatory exams. Students and parents across Bengaluru are advised to note the revised timings and adhere to the new guidelines strictly.
