The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced a significant revision to the examination timetable for the highly anticipated RRB Group D 2025 recruitment drive. This massive initiative aims to fill over 32,000 vacancies for Level 1 posts across the vast network of Indian Railways.

Revised Exam Dates: Key Changes

In an official notification, the board has rescheduled the Computer-Based Test (CBT). The examination, which was originally planned to be conducted from January 1 to January 16, 2026, will now be held on select dates. The new schedule spans January 8, 9 and February 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10, 2026.

The registration process for these posts commenced on November 27, 2025, and candidates have a window to apply until January 16, 2026. The board has clarified that the exam is for Various Posts in Level 1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix under the notification CEN-08/2024.

Exam Pattern and Admit Card Details

The RRB Group D CBT will be a comprehensive test consisting of 100 objective-type questions. The paper is designed to assess candidates in four core areas:

  • General Science: 25 questions
  • Mathematics: 25 questions
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
  • General Awareness and Current Affairs: 20 questions

As per the established procedure, candidates will receive their exam city and date intimation slip approximately 10 days before their scheduled exam date. This information will be activated on the official regional RRB websites. For candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories, travel authority passes will also be issued alongside the intimation slip.

The crucial e-admit card will be made available for download four days prior to the examination date. Candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the official portals for these updates.
