In a significant move to ensure transparency and integrity in the upcoming board examinations, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced the establishment of dedicated control rooms across multiple locations. This initiative aims to facilitate a smooth, fair, and malpractice-free conduct of the annual secondary and intermediate examinations scheduled for 2026.
Operational Details of the Control Rooms
The control rooms will become operational from February 1, 2026, and will remain active throughout the examination period. They will function daily from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, providing a reliable point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the examination process.
Locations and Contact Information
JAC has set up these control rooms at its offices in three key districts: Ranchi, Dumka, and Palamu. The contact numbers for each location are as follows:
- Ranchi: 7485093433, 7485093436, and 0651-2261466
- Dumka: 8969269055 and 06434-236134
- Palamu: 7488299404
These numbers are specifically designated for the examination control rooms, ensuring that queries and issues are addressed promptly.
Purpose and Appeal from JAC Authorities
The primary objective of these control rooms is to provide a platform for examinees, parents, examination personnel, and other stakeholders to report any issues related to the exams. This proactive measure is designed to maintain the integrity of the examination process and ensure that it remains free from malpractices.
JAC Chairman, Natwa Hansda, emphasized the importance of cooperation from all parties involved. He stated, "We appeal to candidates, parents, and examination personnel to extend full cooperation for the successful conduct of the examinations. The control rooms have been established to promptly address any issues related to examination management and coordination, ensuring a fair and transparent process for everyone."
Examination Schedule and Logistics
The annual secondary and intermediate examinations are scheduled to take place from February 3 to February 23, 2026. The secondary examination will be held in the first sitting from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm, while the intermediate examination will be conducted in the second sitting from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm.
In a considerate move, JAC has allocated an additional five minutes for the distribution of question papers. Furthermore, candidates will be granted an extra 15 minutes to read the question paper before the examination begins, allowing them to better prepare and manage their time effectively.
Examination Centers and Candidate Participation
In Ranchi district alone, significant arrangements have been made to accommodate the large number of candidates. For the secondary examination, 87 examination centers have been established, with 32,723 candidates expected to appear. For the intermediate examination, 52 centers have been set up, catering to 32,243 candidates.
This extensive infrastructure underscores JAC's commitment to providing a conducive environment for all examinees, ensuring that the examination process is both efficient and equitable.
Ensuring a Fair Examination Environment
The establishment of these control rooms is part of a broader strategy by JAC to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity. By offering a direct line of communication for reporting issues, the council aims to mitigate potential problems and foster a culture of honesty and fairness.
Stakeholders are encouraged to utilize these resources to address any concerns, thereby contributing to the overall success and credibility of the board examinations in Jharkhand.
