CBSE Class 12 Physical Education Exam Concludes Smoothly Across India
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully conducted the Class 12 Physical Education examination (Code 048) on Wednesday, with the three-hour paper running from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM at centers nationwide. Initial reports indicate a smooth administration process, with students emerging from examination halls appearing relaxed and satisfied with their performance.
Students Express Confidence After Examination
Early reactions from students suggest the Physical Education paper was straightforward and scoring. Many described it as well-balanced, featuring a comfortable mix of objective and descriptive questions that allowed for confident responses without time pressure.
"The paper was easy and high scoring. We expect good marks in this paper and hope to do well in our remaining exams," said Nitu and Skansha, students from Government School in Sonia Vihar, Delhi, who took their exam at Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Sri Ram Colony, Delhi.
The students noted that while this was officially the second paper for Class 12 students (following earlier exams in subjects like Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship), it represented their first major examination of the season. "We're hopeful about the papers ahead," they shared, expressing visible relief after completing the test.
Teachers Validate Student Assessment
Educators echoed the positive student feedback, with one anonymous teacher explaining: "Physical Education is usually selected as an additional subject by Science and Commerce students to enhance their overall percentage. As a fifth subject, it can significantly impact the cumulative score."
The teacher added: "This year's paper was very easy and high scoring. Students who prepared even moderately should do well." This assessment reinforces the common strategy among Class 12 students of opting for Physical Education as an add-on subject to improve their aggregate marks.
Examination Pattern and Structure
The theory paper carried 70 marks and was organized into five distinct sections:
- Section A: 18 compulsory multiple-choice questions (1 mark each)
- Section B: Very short answer questions (2 marks each), with students attempting any 5
- Section C: Short answer questions (3 marks each), with students attempting any 5
- Section D: Case study-based questions (4 marks each)
- Section E: Long answer questions (5 marks each), with students attempting any 3
This combination of objective and descriptive questions provided students with ample opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge across different question formats.
