The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is anticipated to announce the Class 10 Second Board Examination Result 2026 shortly, though no official date or time has been confirmed. Students who appeared for the Phase 2 examinations, conducted from May 15 to May 21, 2026, will be able to access their scorecards through multiple online and digital platforms once the result link is activated.
Over 6.7 Lakh Candidates Await Results
More than 6.7 lakh applications were received for the CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 examinations, including improvement and compartment candidates. The largest group comprised over 5.25 lakh students who registered under the improvement category, seeking to enhance their scores from the first board examination. Additionally, over 85,000 students applied for compartment exams.
Subject Preferences Among Phase 2 Candidates
Science emerged as the most preferred subject among Phase 2 candidates, followed by Mathematics and Social Science. Regional and foreign languages also recorded notable enrolment. Specialised subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Tourism, Music, and Painting saw comparatively lower participation.
How to Check CBSE Class 10 Second Board Result 2026
Students can access their results through the official CBSE portals: cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in. To view the scorecard, candidates must enter their Roll Number, School Number, and Admit Card ID. Some platforms may also require additional details like date of birth and security PIN.
Digital Access via DigiLocker and UMANG
Apart from the official websites, students can obtain their results through DigiLocker and the UMANG application. These platforms provide digitally verified marksheets and certificates that can be used for admissions and verification processes immediately after publication. Original documents will be distributed later through schools.
Alternative Methods for Result Access
CBSE has also arranged alternative facilities such as SMS services and IVRS (telephone-based systems). The SMS facility allows candidates to receive result information by sending a message in the prescribed format containing roll number, school code, and centre number.
Details on the Marksheet
The provisional marksheet will include the student's name, parents' names, school name, roll number, date of birth, subject codes, subject-wise marks, grades, total marks, and qualifying status. Students should carefully verify all entries and report any discrepancies to their school or CBSE immediately.
Understanding Abbreviations and Grading
Common abbreviations on the result sheet include: R.L. (Result Later), N.E. (Not Eligible), R.W. (Result Withheld), ABST (Absent), COMP (Compartment), UFM (Unfair Means), XXXX (Improvement), SJD (Subjudice), and N.R. (Not Registered). CBSE uses a nine-point grading system from A1 to D2, with grade E indicating a need to reappear. To pass, candidates must secure at least 33% marks in each subject.
Important Steps for Students
Students should keep their Roll Number, School Number, and Admit Card ID ready for result access. After downloading the digital marksheet, it is advisable to save multiple copies for future reference. Original certificates will be issued by schools at a later date. For any queries, students may contact their school or CBSE through official channels.
