CBSE Assures Transparency in Class 12 Evaluation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has assured transparency in the evaluation of Class 12 board examinations, emphasizing that the re-evaluation process will continue as per the existing schedule. The board has made it clear that students who are unsatisfied with their results can apply for verification of marks, re-evaluation, or scrutiny of answer sheets.

Re-evaluation Process Details

According to an official statement, the CBSE will commence the application process for verification of marks, re-evaluation, and scrutiny from May 17, 2025. Students can apply online through the official CBSE website. The board has also clarified that the process will be conducted in a transparent manner, with all applications being processed systematically.

Steps for Students

  • Verification of Marks: Students can apply for verification of marks in specific subjects. A fee of Rs. 500 per subject will be charged.
  • Re-evaluation: After verification, if a student still has concerns, they can apply for re-evaluation. The fee for re-evaluation is Rs. 100 per question.
  • Scrutiny: Students can also opt for scrutiny of answer sheets, which involves a detailed check of the answer booklet.

Transparency Measures

To ensure fairness, the CBSE has implemented several measures. Answer sheets are evaluated by trained examiners, and a strict moderation policy is followed. The board has also introduced a digital evaluation system to minimize errors. Students can access their evaluated answer sheets online through the CBSE portal.

The CBSE's Class 12 results for 2025 were declared on May 13, with a pass percentage of 87.98%. The board has received feedback from students and parents regarding discrepancies in marks, prompting the assurance of a transparent re-evaluation process.

In addition to the re-evaluation process, the CBSE has also announced that students can apply for compartment exams if they fail in one or two subjects. The compartment exams are scheduled for July 2025.

The board has advised students to remain calm and not fall prey to rumors. Any queries regarding the re-evaluation process can be addressed through the CBSE helpline numbers and email support.
