The State Education Centre has officially announced the commencement of the second phase of the Right to Education (RTE) free admission process for the academic session 2026-27 in Indore. This development follows the successful completion of the first phase, after which details of vacant seats in private schools have been uploaded on the official portal for public access.
Eligibility for Phase 2
Officials have clarified that no fresh applications will be accepted during the second phase. Only candidates who had already registered earlier are eligible to participate in this process. This includes students who were not allotted any school in the first round, as well as those who did not take admission in the school allotted to them.
Document Verification Opportunity
Parents who had submitted applications but could not complete the document verification process during the first phase have been given another opportunity. They can visit their selected Jan Shiksha Kendra for verification of documents until May 9. Once their documents are verified and found eligible, they will be allowed to update their school preferences for the second phase.
Updating School Preferences
Eligible applicants, including those who missed out in the first round, can update fresh choices for schools with vacant seats between May 11 and May 16. Officials have advised parents to carefully select schools where seats remain vacant to improve their chances of allotment in the second phase.
Lottery and Admission Schedule
The online lottery for seat allotment will be conducted on May 20. Students selected through the lottery will be able to complete admissions in the allotted private schools between May 20 and June 10. The State Education Centre has issued instructions to district collectors and district project coordinators to ensure smooth implementation of the process within the prescribed timeline.
