Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru has emphatically reinforced its status as India's foremost gateway for perishable exports, achieving a remarkable milestone during the recent Valentine's season. The airport facilitated the shipment of approximately 60 million rose stems, underscoring its critical role in the global floral supply chain.
Record-Breaking Consignment Details and Logistics
The total consignment for this period weighed an impressive more than 2,700 metric tonnes (MT), highlighting the scale of operations at KIA. This massive volume of perishable goods was efficiently transported across a wide network of destinations, demonstrating the airport's robust logistics capabilities.
The roses reached 26 international destinations and 47 domestic locations, ensuring timely delivery for Valentine's Day celebrations worldwide. This extensive reach not only supports local growers but also boosts India's export economy significantly.

Among the international markets, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur emerged as the top recipients, reflecting strong demand in Southeast Asia.
