In a significant development for regional aviation, Dibrugarh Airport officially commissioned its extended runway and advanced CAT-I lighting system on Thursday. The inaugural flight to utilize the upgraded infrastructure was IndiGo Flight 6E 893 from Kolkata, which landed at 8:38 am, marking a new era for air travel in Upper Assam.
Enhanced Runway Capabilities
The runway extension project has increased the length from 1,830 meters to 2,291 meters, effectively eliminating payload restrictions that previously plagued A320-type aircraft.
