Home services startup Snabbit has raised $56 million in its Series D funding round, the company announced on Tuesday. The investment round was led by existing investors, with participation from new institutional backers.
Market Context
The country's home services market, already estimated at over $60 billion, remains highly fragmented and largely informal. Organized digital platforms have penetrated less than 5 per cent of this vast market, leaving significant room for growth and disruption. Snabbit aims to bridge this gap by providing a reliable, tech-driven platform for services such as plumbing, electrical work, cleaning, and appliance repair.
Growth Plans
With the fresh capital, Snabbit plans to expand its operations to 50 new cities over the next 18 months. The company also intends to invest in technology upgrades, including AI-powered matching and real-time tracking, to enhance customer experience. Additionally, Snabbit will focus on building a larger network of trained service professionals through partnerships with local training institutes.
Uma Kannan, a spokesperson for Snabbit, stated: "This funding validates our vision to organize the home services sector. We are committed to creating a seamless experience for both customers and service providers."
The Series D round brings Snabbit's total fundraising to date to over $120 million. The company has seen a 3x growth in revenue over the past year, driven by increasing demand for home services in post-pandemic India.
Industry analysts note that the home services space is ripe for consolidation, and Snabbit's aggressive expansion could position it as a market leader. However, challenges remain, including competition from local unorganized players and the need to maintain service quality at scale.
