Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring declared that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's final countdown has started sooner than expected. He reaffirmed that the party will not reach the double-digit mark in the ensuing Assembly elections.
Kejriwal's Daydreaming
Warring stated that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal is daydreaming about Bhagwant Mann becoming chief minister once again. He emphasized that the people of Punjab have already had enough and want to get rid of this government as soon as possible.
"Take it in writing from me, the AAP will not even touch the double-digit mark this time, and maybe it will not be able to find enough candidates to field in these elections," Warring noted. He added, "Over half of their sitting MLAs are just waiting for the right time to jump from the sinking ship."
Warring warned that if the AAP leadership believes it can once again befool the people of Punjab, it is badly mistaken. "You can fool some people some time, some people all the time, all people some time, but you can't fool all the people all the time," he said.
Betrayal of Women
The PCC president accused the AAP of betraying the women of Punjab regarding the Rs 1,000 monthly cash assistance. He noted that as Kejriwal himself claimed elections might be held in November, the AAP will now give just Rs 3,000 to women when they should have received Rs 60,000. "This is the greatest betrayal and the AAP will pay for it," he asserted.
Corruption Allegations
Warring took a dig at Kejriwal's claims of providing an honest government in Punjab. "This only shows that you are not aware of the ground reality in Punjab as not a leaf moves here without bribe," he told Kejriwal, adding that under the AAP government corruption had broken all records.
Election Date Controversy
The PCC president expressed surprise at how Kejriwal could announce that elections in Punjab will be advanced by three months and held in November this year. "Shouldn't this information come from the Election Commission of India?" he asked, wondering whether Kejriwal has some "direct connection" with the commission like his A-team, the BJP.
