Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority took a significant step on Saturday. The authority organized its first-ever Stakeholders' Summit. This event aimed to build confidence and generate wider participation in two major infrastructure initiatives.
Focus on Mega Projects Worth 26,000 Crore
The summit centered on detailed presentations of two ambitious projects. These are the proposed New Nagpur Business District and the Third Outer Ring Road. Together, these mega projects carry an estimated cost of around 26,000 crore. Both initiatives have received endorsement from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The NMRDA is responsible for implementing these developments.
Bringing Key Players Together
The NMRDA brought together industrial organizations, real estate developers, and key stakeholders. Participants came from Nagpur and the wider Vidarbha region. The authority invited representatives from several prominent organizations. These included CREDAI-Nagpur, the Association of Industrial Development, and the Vidarbha Industries Association.
NMRDA commissioner Sanjay Meena spoke about the summit's objective. He said the goal was to provide first-hand information to city-based stakeholders. "We explained the projects to the stakeholders and their potential for the future," Meena stated. He added that such engagement would help align development goals with investor expectations.
Industry Leaders Applaud the Initiative
Gaurav Agarwala of CREDAI-Nagpur praised the NMRDA's effort. He called it a 'first-of-its-kind' initiative by a government development authority in the region. Agarwala underlined the importance of stakeholder awareness in attracting investors.
"It was necessary, as any time an investor wants to invest in a city, they contact their friends, families and contacts," he explained. "So, if stakeholders know project plans better, they also tell potential investors."
This summit represents a proactive approach by the NMRDA. By directly engaging with industrial and real estate stakeholders, the authority hopes to foster greater collaboration. The move signals a commitment to transparent communication about Nagpur's future infrastructure landscape.
