In a decisive move to curb unauthorized development, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted a major sealing drive in two prominent historic markets of the Pink City on Friday. The action targeted illegal construction and commercial activities operating in violation of city regulations.
Historic Markets Under Scrutiny
The enforcement teams focused their operation on the bustling Kishanpole zone, specifically the iconic Ramganj Bazaar and Johari Bazaar. These areas, known for their traditional shops and heritage value, have been under observation for building code violations.
Properties Sealed for Violations
Officials sealed House No. 1980 on Thakur Pachewar ka Rasta in Johari Bazaar. The property faced action for both unauthorized construction and misuse of the premises. Simultaneously, in Ramganj Bazaar, illegal structures and unauthorized commercial operations were discovered atop Shop No. 79 and Shop No. 80. Both these premises were subsequently sealed by the corporation's teams.
Notices Ignored, Action Followed
JMC official Vijendra Kumar stated that the property owners and shopkeepers involved had been served with prior notices. He clarified that they failed to rectify the issues or comply with the directives within the given timeframe. "As the violations continued, the municipal corporation had no option but to take strict action," Kumar emphasized.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officials and enforcement teams, ensuring all procedures were followed as per the rulebook. The JMC has sent a clear message that it will not tolerate illegal constructions and unregulated commercial setups in the city. This drive is part of the corporation's ongoing campaign to enforce urban planning norms and maintain the architectural integrity of Jaipur.
