Chatra Bypass Road Blocked in Protest Over Cooking Gas Shortage
Hundreds of angry consumers in Chatra took to the streets on Saturday morning, blocking the busy bypass road in a dramatic protest against an alleged severe shortage of cooking gas. The demonstration, which lasted for an hour, brought vehicular movement to a standstill as locals voiced their frustration over delayed LPG cylinder deliveries.
Villagers Gather with Empty Cylinders
Around 10 am, villagers and local residents assembled near a gas agency, carrying empty LPG cylinders. They alleged that despite booking cylinders several days in advance, they had not received their refills, leading to widespread inconvenience and anger. The protesters strategically placed their empty cylinders across the road in a long queue, effectively halting traffic on the crucial bypass route.
Administration and Agency Respond
In response to the escalating situation, local administration officials and representatives from the gas agency quickly arrived at the scene. Their primary goal was to pacify the protesters and address the grievances. The intervention aimed to restore order and find a swift resolution to the supply issues that sparked the protest.
This incident highlights growing consumer discontent in the region over essential commodity shortages, urging authorities to ensure timely distribution and better management of LPG supplies to prevent future disruptions.
