Officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority will meet with representatives of Japanese companies in Delhi this Friday. They aim to attract investments for the proposed Japanese City in Sector 5A.
Presenting the Blueprint
The meeting will feature a detailed presentation of the city's blueprint. YEIDA officials plan to highlight various investment opportunities during the session.
A Comprehensive Living Ecosystem
The proposed city will span 395 hectares within Yamuna City. It is designed to serve as both an industrial and residential hub specifically tailored for Japanese companies operating in India.
"Our objective extends beyond creating just an industrial zone," explained an official. "We are building a complete living ecosystem."
This ecosystem will include housing complexes, schools, hospitals, and other essential social infrastructure. The goal is to provide a familiar and comfortable environment for professionals working in the area.
Focus on Key Sectors
Japanese entrepreneurs attending the meeting will receive briefings on sector-specific investment opportunities. Key areas of focus will include artificial intelligence, semiconductors, green hydrogen, solar energy, and the automobile industry.
The delegation will also learn about available incentives and subsidies for investments within the YEIDA region. Officials will actively seek feedback from company representatives regarding plot sizes, land use preferences, and infrastructure requirements.
Incorporating Valuable Input
YEIDA plans to incorporate this valuable feedback into the detailed project report. The meeting will also serve as a platform to showcase major infrastructure projects already underway in Yamuna City.
These projects include the upcoming airport, the proposed Film City, the Buddh International Circuit, and the Medical Device Park.
Medical Device Park Collaboration
Investment prospects linked specifically to the Medical Device Park will form a significant part of the discussions. Officials will emphasize opportunities for technology exchange and collaboration with Japanese firms in this sector.
YEIDA has already initiated talks with Medical Excellence Japan. Efforts are currently underway to attract major Japanese companies to the Medical Device Park.
Learning from Neemrana
In preparation for this ambitious project, a YEIDA team visited the Japanese industrial zone at Neemrana in Rajasthan last December. They conducted an in-depth study of its successful development model.
Officials examined various aspects including land allotment processes, zoning regulations, administrative support systems, and infrastructure standards related to logistics, power, water, and utilities.
Neemrana, located in Alwar district, is widely recognized as India's first dedicated Japanese industrial hub. It has successfully attracted significant investment, particularly in the automobile and high-technology sectors.
Broader Planning Framework
The Japanese delegation will also receive a comprehensive briefing on YEIDA's broader planning framework. This includes master planning strategies, cluster-based industrial development approaches, multimodal connectivity plans, and various government support schemes available to investors.
