Nagpur: P Mohan, an industry expert and president of the MIDC Industries Association (MIA), has presented a Vision Document 2030 aimed at transforming the Hingna industrial area. He called for the removal of administrative bottlenecks and accelerated infrastructure development to attract investments and support local enterprises.
Key Challenges Highlighted
Mohan pointed out that a lack of coordination among various government departments and complex approval processes are causing significant delays in critical infrastructure projects. These include road construction, sewage systems, and other essential works. He stated, "Delayed clearances are discouraging fresh investments. Temporary repairs have worsened the condition of roads, drainage, and street lighting, directly impacting micro, small, and medium enterprises."
Vision Document 2030 Proposals
The Vision Document 2030 includes several key proposals to address these issues:
- Development of internal roads capable of handling heavy vehicular traffic
- Construction of scientific drainage systems to prevent waterlogging
- Establishment of modern logistics parks and truck terminals
- Ensuring uninterrupted power supply for industrial operations
- Expansion of the piped natural gas network
- Granting industrial township status to Hingna MIDC
Additional Measures
The document also emphasizes strengthening the single-window clearance system to simplify approvals. Other recommendations include:
- Provision of affordable housing for workers
- Improvement of transport facilities
- Setting up skill development centres
- Availability of emergency medical services for workers
- Upgrading effluent treatment plants
- Creation of green belts to promote environmental sustainability
Mohan urged the government to implement these measures promptly to unlock the full potential of the Hingna industrial area and boost economic growth in the region.
