UP Minister Inspects Pharma Park in Lalitpur

On the second day of his two-day visit to Jhansi and Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh's Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' inspected the under-construction Bulk Drug Pharma Park at Saidpur village in Lalitpur district on Monday. He stated that the ambitious project would transform the industrial landscape of Bundelkhand while generating thousands of employment opportunities for local youth.

Inspection and Review

The minister, accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary for Infrastructure and Industrial Development Alok Kumar, visited the project site. During the inspection, officials reviewed the project model and site map, and directed authorities to expedite construction work and speed up the allotment of industrial plots.

Government's Vision for Bundelkhand

Addressing officials during a review meeting, Nandi said previous governments had neglected Bundelkhand by considering it a backward and difficult region. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the double-engine government had given new momentum to industrial growth in the region through the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA).

He said the government had developed the Pharma Park in Lalitpur to attract major national and international pharmaceutical companies, which would open new avenues for local youth, farmers, and entrepreneurs. He added that the people of Bundelkhand were witnessing rapid development, and the coming years would bring significant economic progress.

Employment and Economic Impact

Expressing satisfaction over the pace of ongoing works, the minister instructed officials to complete all development activities within the stipulated timeframe. He said the pharma park would not only establish Uttar Pradesh as a pharmaceutical manufacturing hub but also create large-scale employment opportunities at the local level. He further directed officials to initiate acquisition of additional land for the future expansion of the project.

Project Progress and Allotments

The project is being executed by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) on a war footing. Authorities said industrial companies had already started showing interest in investing in the project during its first phase, and five industrial plots had already been allotted. Officials of UPSIDA informed that development work in the first phase is being carried out over 352.91 acres with an investment of Rs 109.98 crore.

Infrastructure facilities including roads, firefighting buildings, administrative buildings, entry gates, landscaping, and boundary walls are currently under construction and are expected to be completed by December 2026.

Environmental Focus

During the inspection, the minister and senior officials also planted saplings within the Pharma Park premises and stressed the importance of maintaining environmental balance alongside industrial development.
