Southern Railway is running special train services this weekend to handle the extra rush during the Pongal festival. The trains will operate on Saturday and Sunday to clear the heavy passenger load.
Madurai to Rameswaram Special Train Details
The Madurai to Rameswaram special train will depart from Madurai at 11.55 PM on Saturday. It is scheduled to arrive in Rameswaram at 3 AM the next day.
The train will make several important stops along the route. These include Madurai East, Manamadurai, Paramakudi, Tiruppuvanam, and Ramanathapuram.
Rameswaram to Madurai Special Train Schedule
On Sunday, a special train will run from Rameswaram back to Madurai. This train will leave Rameswaram at 3 AM. It is expected to reach Madurai by 5.50 AM.
This return journey will skip the stoppage at Tiruppuvanam. This change helps in reducing the travel time for passengers.
Nagercoil to Tambaram Superfast Special Train
Southern Railway is also operating a one-way superfast special train on Sunday, January 18. This train will run from Nagercoil to Tambaram.
The train will depart from Nagercoil at 5 PM. It will arrive at Tambaram at 4.10 AM the next day.
Passengers can expect multiple halts during this journey. The train will stop at Valliyur, Nanguneri, Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Dindigul, Vridachalam, Villupuram, and Chengalpattu before reaching Tambaram.
Advance Registration Information
Advance registration for the Nagercoil to Tambaram one-way special train opens at 8 AM on Saturday. Travelers should complete their bookings early to secure seats.
