Mumbai CNG Crisis Over: Gas Supply Restored After Repair

Mumbai CNG Crisis Finally Resolved

The severe CNG crisis that gripped Mumbai and surrounding regions has now been successfully resolved. On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Mahanagar Gas Limited announced the completion of repair work on the damaged natural gas pipeline that had disrupted supplies across the metropolitan region.

Pipeline Restoration Completed

Mahanagar Gas confirmed that the rectification work on GAIL's damaged main gas pipeline located within the RCF Trombay facility premises has been fully completed. The company made this significant announcement through an official post on social media platform X, bringing relief to thousands of affected consumers.

The restoration process involved complex technical operations to repair the critical infrastructure. Gas supply to MGL's City Gate Station at Wadala has been successfully restored by GAIL, marking a crucial milestone in resolving the supply chain disruption that had impacted numerous CNG stations throughout the region.

Normalcy Returns to Affected Areas

With the pipeline restoration complete, CNG supply has been fully reinstated to all affected stations in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. This development comes as a major relief to vehicle owners, taxi drivers, and commercial transport operators who had been facing significant challenges due to the supply disruption.

The company expressed gratitude to its customers for their patience and cooperation during this challenging period. "We are thankful to our esteemed customers for their co-operation," stated Mahanagar Gas in their official communication, acknowledging the difficulties faced by consumers during the crisis.

The successful resolution of this infrastructure issue demonstrates the effectiveness of emergency response mechanisms in addressing critical energy supply disruptions in one of India's most populous metropolitan regions.
