MPIDC Plans 250-Hectare Industrial Belt Near Nagda

The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is moving forward with ambitious plans to establish a new industrial belt. This development will cover approximately 250 hectares of land near Nagda in Ujjain district. Officials confirm that land identification and preliminary planning activities are currently in progress.

Strengthening Ujjain's Industrial Ecosystem

MPIDC executive director Rajesh Rathore explained the corporation's strategic vision. He stated that the primary objective is to create organized industrial infrastructure. This infrastructure aims to attract manufacturing units and generate substantial employment opportunities for the local population.

"We are planning a new industrial belt near Nagda spread over nearly 250 hectare," Rathore said. "The objective is to create organised industrial infrastructure to attract manufacturing units and generate employment."

Addressing Congestion and Expanding Options

MPIDC officials highlighted several key benefits of the proposed Nagda industrial belt:

  • It will help decongest existing industrial estates in the region
  • It will provide new land options for medium and large industries
  • It will reinforce Ujjain's emergence as a key industrial hub in western Madhya Pradesh

This development represents a significant expansion of industrial capacity in Ujjain division. The move comes amid rising investment interest from both domestic and international companies.

Building on Existing Success

The proposed Nagda industrial belt will complement existing industrial clusters in Ujjain district. These clusters include:

  1. Vikram Udyogpuri industrial area
  2. The Medical Device Park at Ujjain
  3. Several smaller industrial areas

All these existing facilities are currently witnessing steady investor interest. According to official MPIDC data, Ujjain division has demonstrated remarkable industrial momentum over the past two years.

Impressive Investment Figures

The numbers tell a compelling story of growth. Ujjain division attracted investments worth Rs 38,506 crore over the past twenty-four months. This substantial capital inflow reflects strong confidence in the region's industrial potential.

Breaking down these investments reveals significant job creation potential:

  • Vikram Udyogpuri secured investment commitments of Rs 6,481 crore
  • These commitments are expected to generate more than 18,000 jobs once projects become operational
  • The Medical Device Park received investments of Rs 2,899 crore
  • This park has employment potential estimated at over 11,000 jobs

The new Nagda industrial belt represents the next phase of this industrial expansion. It will provide additional infrastructure to accommodate growing investor demand. This development positions Ujjain as an increasingly important industrial center within Madhya Pradesh's economic landscape.
