Mercedes-Benz India Achieves Record Revenue in 2025
Mercedes-Benz India closed the 2025 calendar year with its best-ever revenue performance. The company announced this milestone during its annual press meet, highlighting robust demand for its premium and electric vehicle segments.
Strong Sales Figures and Key Drivers
The German automaker delivered a total of 19,007 vehicles in India during 2025. This growth primarily stemmed from the Top-End Vehicle portfolio, which includes models like the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, and AMG performance cars.
This segment experienced an 11 percent year-on-year increase and contributed 25 percent to overall sales. The AMG lineup showed even stronger momentum, surging by 34 percent year-on-year. Popular models such as the AMG G63, AMG CLE 53, and AMG GLC 43 fueled this impressive growth.
Electric Vehicle Momentum Builds
Electric vehicles gained significant traction in the Indian market. Mercedes-Benz's Battery Electric Vehicle portfolio expanded by 12 percent year-on-year. These EVs now represent 20 percent of all top-end Mercedes-Benz vehicles sold in the country.
Notably, 70 percent of BEVs sold in 2025 carried price tags between Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 3.10 crore. The EQS SUV emerged as the brand's best-selling luxury EV in India. Other models like the EQS sedan, Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, and the G580 also maintained strong demand.
Sedan Performance and Entry-Level Challenges
In the sedan category, Mercedes-Benz continued to see healthy demand across its range. The long wheelbase E-Class retained its position as India's highest-selling luxury car. The C-Class, S-Class, and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also made substantial contributions to overall volumes.
However, entry-level luxury models faced a 20 percent year-on-year decline. These vehicles accounted for just 13 percent of total sales in 2025.
New Charging Initiative and Future Plans
The company introduced 'MB.CHARGE Public', a unified public charging ecosystem for existing Mercedes-Benz BEV customers. This service comes at no additional cost and provides access to over 9,000 DC charging points across India. Customers can manage charging through the integrated Mercedes-Benz app.
Looking forward to 2026, Mercedes-Benz India plans to launch 12 new products. This lineup will include new models, facelifts, and additional battery electric vehicles. The company also confirmed it will begin local production of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS at its Pune facility. This move makes India the first market outside the United States to manufacture this ultra-luxury SUV locally.
