The Andhra Pradesh state government is planning to develop Makavarapalem in the Narsipatnam assembly constituency of Anakapalle district as an industrial hub and has proposed three 100-foot roads to improve transport connectivity. Makavarapalem is already emerging as an industrial center in Anakapalle district, with an MSME park and various small and medium industries present. The area previously hosted a major alumina company, and additional companies are now setting up operations.
Land bank for industries
The government has earmarked approximately 406 acres of Kondaporamboku land in survey no 737 within the Rachapalli revenue limits as a land bank for industrial development. Of this, around 150 acres have been allotted to the Dozko company. Ceat Tyres Company is requesting the state government to allocate 200 acres for a factory. Officials are also working to allot 150 acres for a food processing company.
Proposed road projects
Three road stretches are planned to be developed as 100-foot roads: a 15 km road from Ramannapalem to Pedapalli, an 8 km stretch from Pydpipala to Settipalem, and a 2 km stretch from Chinnarachapalli to Beema Boyinapalem. The government has already released Rs. 15 crore for the Ramannapalem to Pedapalli road via Yerakannapalem. This road will be linked to the National Highway at Pedapalli within the Yalamanchili Municipality limits. Officials have also prepared plans for another road from Pydipala to Makavarapalem via the Settipalem Coffee Powder making industry. Land acquisition is underway to widen the existing roads.
Industrial growth and transport
To facilitate transport for industries, officials have conducted surveys and prepared proposals for the three roads. The development is expected to boost the local economy and attract further investment. For more local updates, stay connected with TOI.
