Sanchita Ugale Dies by Suicide at 22, Co-Star Reveals Depression

The television industry is mourning the loss of young actress Sanchita Ugale, who reportedly died by suicide on June 14 at her residence in Nalasopara East. The 22-year-old, known for her role in Kumkum Bhagya, was found dead in her home in Sai Santoshi Building, Aachole Village. Police have confirmed the incident, and the news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world.

Co-Star Reveals Sanchita’s Battle with Depression

Sanchita's former co-star Megha Sharma, who worked with her on the show Saajan Ghar, opened up about the actress's personal struggles. In an emotional statement, Megha revealed that Sanchita had been dealing with depression since January. “She had some health-related issues and had been battling depression since January,” Megha said. “She was also dealing with personal matters and was undergoing treatment. But I can't comment much about it as I don't have any clarity.”

Megha recalled how she and other co-stars always supported Sanchita. “Whenever we met, we always supported and encouraged her. She often said that she would do something, and all of us would encourage her to stay positive and not think about such negative things. Her mother and family members also motivated her.”

Dismissing Harassment and Work Pressure Rumors

Addressing claims made by Sanchita's cousin that she faced work pressure and harassment, Megha firmly dismissed them as baseless. “No, that's completely untrue. These are just baseless rumors. Work was never an issue for her, and she was not under any pressure or facing harassment from the industry. Nothing like that ever took place. She was not suffering because of problems from the industry. Those are totally false rumors.” She also clarified that a viral Instagram story about Sushant Singh Rajput was not posted by Sanchita but by a fan page.

Remembering a Vibrant Soul

Megha described Sanchita as a bold and confident person, full of life. “None of us believed that she would do something like this. We were all with her and supported her. We have definitely been with her throughout. None of us believed when we first heard the news. I am shocked beyond words,” she said.

Recalling their last meeting just 10 days before the tragedy, Megha shared that they went together for an audition. “We spoke about regular things and had a normal conversation, as we were good friends. Most of our discussion was about work and our day-to-day experiences. In fact, when we met recently, she seemed positive, was in good spirits, and appeared to be doing well. It was just a casual conversation.”

Waiting for Final Goodbye

Megha and other co-stars, including Meenakshi, Simran Sharma, and Khushboo Sawant, are waiting for updates on the cremation and hoping to say their final goodbye. “I'm sure everyone is clueless right now, same like I am. We don't have any idea about how to deal with the situation. We just wanted to say our last goodbye.”

Sanchita's body was initially held at the hospital and in police custody, leaving friends and family in limbo. The investigation is ongoing.
