Lucknow's India Food Expo 2026 Aims to Boost Food Processing and MSME Growth in UP

Senior functionaries of the Indian Industries Association announced exciting plans on Wednesday. The 10th edition of their India Food Expo 2026, known as IFX-26, will strengthen the food processing ecosystem. This initiative gains fresh momentum after Lucknow earned its designation as a city of gastronomy.

Event Details and Support

The three-day expo kicks off this Friday at Regalia Greens in Gomtinagar. It enjoys strong backing from Invest UP and the Uttar Pradesh department of horticulture and food processing. The event also aims to accelerate industrial growth led by MSMEs across the state.

A Comprehensive Platform for the Food Chain

Organizers position the expo as a complete platform for the entire food processing value chain. It will bring together a diverse group of participants. Policymakers, industry leaders, and food processors will attend. Agri and dairy enterprises will join machinery and technology providers. Packaging firms, cold chain operators, and logistics players will participate. Start-ups, investors, academia, and support institutions will also gather.

Chetan Bhalla serves as the chairman for the expo. He stated that the effort has evolved over the years. It now stands as a trusted meeting point for the entire "farm-to-fork" ecosystem.

Alignment with National and State Visions

Co-chairman Vikas Khanna and convener Surya Prakash Havelia shared their perspectives. They emphasized that the expo aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. It also supports the Uttar Pradesh government's ambitious plan. The state aims to establish seventy-five thousand food processing units across its districts. This translates to nearly one thousand units per district.

Showcasing Diverse Food Segments

The event will showcase a wide range of food segments. Attendees can explore agri-processing, fruits, and vegetables. Dairy products, grains, and cereals will feature prominently. The expo will include bakery and confectionery items along with beverages. Meat and fisheries, spices, and ready-to-eat foods will also display. Value-added foods will share the spotlight with packaging solutions. Warehousing, cold chains, and allied services complete the exhibition.

Educational Seminar Sessions

The expo will feature several seminar sessions on critical topics. Discussions will cover policy, finance, and technology. Export strategies, innovation, and sustainability will receive attention. Entrepreneurship development will also form a key focus area. Government officials, industry experts, and domain specialists will lead these sessions. They aim to provide valuable insights and foster meaningful dialogue.
