The portal was inaugurated by State Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan on Wednesday during the board's 246th meeting in Shimla.

Minister Chauhan stated that the new website, accessible at www.hpkhadi.in, is designed to play a pivotal role in disseminating information. It will provide details about the department's various schemes, programmes, ongoing activities, and achievements in a simple and transparent manner. The minister emphasized that this initiative aims to directly benefit entrepreneurs, citizens, and potential beneficiaries by giving them easy access to all relevant information.

Focus on Rural Economy and Employment

The launch event was part of a broader board meeting where key departmental and policy issues were discussed in detail. An official spokesperson revealed that the discussions centered on strengthening the khadi and village industries sector. Harshwardhan Chauhan stressed the need for effective implementation of all related programmes, with a special focus on generating employment and strengthening the rural economy.

The 246th meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board saw participation from top officials. Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) R D Nazim was present alongside other senior officers.
