Body Found After Ahmedabad Factory Fire, Rs 80 Crore Damage

Ahmedabad: A body was recovered on Saturday morning from Faith Industrial Ltd in Santej, a day after a massive fire swept through the chemical factory and damaged nearby units, fire officials said. The blaze broke out around 5:08 PM on Friday in the area where raw materials used for chemical and plastic manufacturing were stored, and spread rapidly, affecting the adjacent Techno Instrument factory and other units.

Extensive Damage and Response

Preliminary estimates placed the total damage at approximately Rs 80 crore. In response, 15 fire vehicles and 98 personnel were deployed to combat the flames. The fire was brought under control on Saturday morning. At around 7 AM on Saturday, the fire team discovered a body inside the factory and handed it over to police for further procedure. No other casualties were reported.

Second Fire Incident in Jodhpur

Meanwhile, at least 20 residents were rescued after a fire broke out on Saturday morning in Ratnakar-III, a 12-storey building in the Jodhpur area of the city. The blaze started in a flat on the third floor, fire officials said. They suspect an electrical fault caused it. In total, 10 fire tenders were deployed to control the fire. No injuries were reported.

Authorities continue to investigate both incidents. The cause of the chemical factory fire is still under investigation, while the electrical fault is believed to be the trigger for the residential blaze.
