Ambani to Double Gujarat Investment to Rs 7 Lakh Crore, Hails PM Modi as 'Invincible Wall'
Ambani Pledges Rs 7 Lakh Crore for Gujarat, Calls Modi 'Protective Wall'

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, declared a massive investment surge for Gujarat while lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership as a shield against global instability. The announcements were made during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for Kutch and Saurashtra in Rajkot on Sunday.

Ambani's Vision: Gujarat as India's AI and Green Energy Leader

Addressing the conference, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi, Ambani outlined an ambitious roadmap for Reliance in the state. He committed to doubling the conglomerate's investment in Gujarat from Rs 3.5 lakh crore to a staggering Rs 7 lakh crore over the next five years. This capital infusion is expected to generate significant employment and wealth creation across the state.

A central pillar of this plan is establishing Gujarat as India's pioneer in Artificial Intelligence. "Reliance is committed to making Gujarat the AI pioneer of India," Ambani stated. The company is constructing India's largest AI-ready data centre in Jamnagar, aimed at delivering affordable AI solutions to every citizen. Furthermore, Jio will launch an intelligent platform to enable Indians, starting with Gujaratis, to access AI services in their local languages on personal devices.

Transforming Jamnagar into a Global Green Energy Hub

Ambani also emphasized Reliance's commitment to global leadership in clean energy. The industrialist revealed that Jamnagar, historically known as a hydrocarbon exporter, is being transformed. The city will host the world's largest integrated clean energy ecosystem, encompassing:

  • Solar power generation
  • Battery energy storage systems
  • Green hydrogen and green fertilizer production
  • Sustainable aviation and maritime fuels

Additionally, Reliance plans a multi-gigawatt solar project in Kutch to provide round-the-clock clean power, aiming to turn the region into a global clean energy hub.

Praise for PM Modi's Leadership Amid Global Uncertainty

In his address, Ambani highlighted India's unique position of strength in a turbulent world. He contrasted the global climate of uncertainty with the stability in India, attributing it directly to Prime Minister Modi. "The world is changing very fast, the geopolitical situation is creating new challenges and unexpected turbulence," Ambani observed. "What is reassuring for India is that these challenges cannot touch or trouble our people because India has the invincible protective wall called Narendra Modi."

He described the current period as India's "defining decade" under the Prime Minister's guidance, asserting that the nation is not merely preparing for the future but actively shaping it.

Supporting Sports and Olympic Ambitions

Beyond economic investments, Ambani announced Reliance's support for India's sporting aspirations. The Reliance Foundation is prepared to back the Prime Minister's vision of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad. As an initial step, Reliance will partner with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura, Ahmedabad, developing it into a venue for national and international events and a training ground for future champions.

Prime Minister Modi, who inaugurated the conference, echoed the sentiment of confidence, stating that India is currently witnessing an era of unprecedented certainty and political stability even as the world grapples with uncertainty.
