The groundwork for the upcoming third edition of the Advantage Vidarbha-Khasdar Audhyogik Mahotsav was formally initiated on Sunday in Nagpur. The bhoomipuja ceremony for the event's venue and the inauguration of its office were held at Nagpur University's new administrative building, marking a significant step towards the festival scheduled for February.

The event saw Atul Goyal, Chairman of the Goyal Ganga Group, presiding as the chief guest. In his address, Goyal highlighted a distinctive feature of Nagpur's development ethos. He emphasized that Nagpur has a longstanding culture of actively involving traders in the city's progress, a practice he noted is less common in other cities across Maharashtra. This collaborative approach, he stated, has successfully cultivated a favourable and supportive ecosystem for the trading community.
The ceremony was attended by a host of prominent figures from industry and academia. Key attendees included Ashish Kale, President of the Association for Industrial Development (AID), Dr. Vijay Sharma, Secretary of AID, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM-Nagpur, Ashok Goyal, Rajesh Rokde, and Shivkumar Rao. Also present were Reena Sinha, Chairperson of the VED Council, Manohar Bhojwani, President of the Mihan Industries Association, Ravleensingh Khurana, and Vishal Bangre, among other dignitaries.
Mahotsav Aims to be a Catalyst for Investment
Ashish Kale provided a comprehensive overview of the Advantage Vidarbha-Khasdar Audhyogik Mahotsav. He outlined the festival's evolution into a crucial platform for entrepreneurs across the Vidarbha region. The primary objective of the upcoming edition is to attract substantial investment and foster industrial growth in the area, leveraging the unique collaborative culture praised by Goyal.
The proceedings of the inauguration event were conducted by Dr. Vijay Sharma. The ceremony concluded with Shivkumar Rao proposing a formal vote of thanks, wrapping up the foundational event for the much-anticipated industrial festival.
Building on a Visionary Concept
The Advantage Vidarbha-Khasdar Audhyogik Mahotsav is a concept championed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The upcoming event in February will be its third iteration, indicating its growing importance on the regional industrial calendar. The establishment of a dedicated office and the ceremonial start at Nagpur University underscore the institutional support and structured planning behind the initiative, aiming to transform Vidarbha into a major hub for business and innovation.
