Gold Rises Slightly on MCX, Silver Drops to Rs 2.43 Lakh Amid Middle East Tension
Gold Edges Up, Silver Falls to Rs 2.43 Lakh on MCX

Gold prices witnessed a mild gain on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Tuesday, while silver dropped to Rs 2.43 lakh per kg, as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continued to influence investor sentiment. The precious metals market remained volatile amid concerns over regional instability.

Gold Prices on MCX

On MCX, gold futures for June delivery rose by Rs 112, or 0.22 percent, to Rs 51,350 per 10 grams. The yellow metal had closed at Rs 51,238 per 10 grams in the previous trading session. Analysts attributed the slight uptick to safe-haven buying amid uncertainties in the Middle East.

Gold prices in the international market also edged higher, with spot gold trading at $1,875 per ounce, up 0.3 percent. The rise was supported by a weaker US dollar and falling bond yields.

Silver Prices Decline

Silver prices, on the other hand, witnessed a decline. Silver futures for July delivery on MCX dropped by Rs 1,200, or 0.49 percent, to Rs 2,43,000 per kg. The white metal had settled at Rs 2,44,200 per kg in the previous session.

The decline in silver prices was attributed to profit-booking after recent gains. Additionally, industrial demand concerns weighed on the metal, as global economic growth fears persist.

Middle East Tensions Impact

Escalating tensions in the Middle East have been a key driver for precious metals. The ongoing conflict has led to increased demand for safe-haven assets like gold. However, silver, which has both industrial and investment uses, faced selling pressure due to its dual nature.

Market participants are closely monitoring developments in the region. Any further escalation could lead to higher volatility in bullion prices.
