Fitistan Launches 54-Day Green Miles Challenge 2026
In a unique blend of fitness and environmental stewardship, Fitistan has unveiled the 'Ek Ped Desh Ke Naam - Green Miles Challenge 2026', a 54-day campaign that converts physical activity into tangible ecological benefits. The initiative marks the 54th edition of the World Environment Day and encourages participants across India to walk or cycle, with the ultimate goal of planting 10,000 trees.
Campaign Details
The campaign commenced on June 5, 2026, and features two primary challenges: the Green Miles Step Challenge, where participants must complete at least 100,000 steps in 54 days, and the Green Miles Cycling Challenge, which requires a minimum of 54 kilometers cycled in the same period. All activities are tracked via the Fitistan app, which also supports syncing with popular platforms such as Google Fit, Apple Health, Health Connect, Strava, Garmin, Fitbit, and Apple Watch. For every 100,000 steps or 54 kilometers logged by the community, Fitistan will plant one tree, aiming for a total of 10,000 trees.
Community Response
Shilpa Bhagat, co-founder of Fitistan, stated: 'The Green Miles Challenge 2026 has been well received by our community of over 1 million members across more than 1,000 Indian cities. This is more than a fitness campaign; it is a national movement for healthier citizens and a greener India.' Major Surendra Poonia, co-founder, added: 'Our initiatives are driven by purpose over profit. By linking visible impact with measurable actions, we aim to foster social and civic responsibility.'
Incentives and Partnerships
Participants can track their progress via a live leaderboard on the Fitistan app. Upon completion, they receive a digital certificate signed by Honourable Governor General VK Singh, former Chief of Army Staff, and recognition on Fitistan's social media platforms. Paid add-ons include an exclusive Green Miles T-shirt and a finisher medal. The campaign has also partnered with the NCC to amplify its reach.
