Public prosecutor Kiran Bendbhar informed a Nashik court that a senior manager regularly emailed an Assistant General Manager, who also served on the POSH committee, highlighting specific allegations against two employees accused of sexual misconduct.

Investigators have seized 78 emails and chat records from the AGM's electronic devices. These communications are currently being reviewed in her presence to determine whether established procedures were properly followed or deliberately ignored. "Let It Go": Alleged Discouragement of Complainants

The SIT's report raises serious concerns about how harassment complaints were handled internally. According to investigators, although the complainant directly approached the AGM with her concerns, she was reportedly discouraged from pursuing the matter further. The AGM allegedly told the complainant, "Why do you want to get highlighted? Let it go. Leave it."

Investigators believe these responses may have emboldened the accused individuals, potentially allowing the misconduct to continue unchecked. Call detail records have further complicated the situation, with Assistant public prosecutor Aniket Avhand informing the court that the AGM had 38 calls with one accused employee and additional contact with another, raising questions about possible conflicts of interest or complicity.

The investigation has expanded to examine the role of HR personnel and whether complaints were systematically downplayed or normalized within the corporate culture. In one particularly concerning case, a complainant reported that an HR official advised her to "stay cool," suggesting that certain inappropriate behaviors were "common in MNCs."

Arrests and Expanding Criminal Investigation

To date, seven employees have been arrested in connection with the allegations. The first FIR was filed on March 26 at Devlali Camp police station, with subsequent cases registered at Mumbai Naka police station. All arrested individuals are currently in judicial custody at Nashik Road Central Prison. The AGM, arrested in Pune on April 10, remains in police custody after a court extended her detention until April 15 to facilitate further investigation.

In response to the escalating scandal, N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons and TCS, described the allegations as "gravely concerning and anguishing." He confirmed that an internal investigation led by COO Aarthi Subramanian is actively underway to "establish facts and identify all individuals responsible," while reaffirming the company's zero-tolerance policy toward workplace misconduct.
