To date, 3,000 items from the Positive Indigenisation Lists and 14,000 items under the SRIJAN portal have been indigenised. These achievements underscore the progress made under 'Make in India'.
Critical Role of Domestic Supply Chains
Innovation at scale can only be realised when the supply of critical materials is insulated from geopolitical pressures. This goal is unattainable without indigenisation. By integrating advanced materials with frontier technologies, India can enhance its strategic defence preparedness to protect its borders, soldiers, and citizens with the best available protection.
The impetus to innovate, collaborate, build, and prototype products, platforms, and technologies within India—for both domestic use and the global marketplace—has fundamentally reshaped defence manufacturing. The existence of a robust domestic supply chain is not just an option but a necessity for sustaining this momentum.
